After only 3 hours sleep we were up at 2.00am to have a cuppa & do the last minute checks before meeting the Lidsters at cosy corner to start our adventure. First stop was Gympie for a bacon & egg roll & coffee which kept us going until we reached Rocky in time for lunch & refuelling.
The road between Rocky & Mackay was long, straight & boring with not much but bush to look at, with the only excitment a stone chip in the windscreen & road rage with a truckie who nearly ran us off the road.
Anyway we made it to Bowen in one piece at around 7pm just in time to set up in the rain & the dark. Then off to the servo for some burgers. We are all stuffed & well & truely ready for a good nights sleep. Lets hope day 2 is more exciting.
